James E. Sharp is our chief financial officer and treasurer, with more than 20 years of experience in finance and accounting at both public and private real estate companies. In October 2010, Mr. Sharp joined TIER REIT’s management team, serving as chief accounting officer through May 2017, as executive vice president since July 2015, and as our head of capital markets since May of 2017.

From January 1996 until March 2000, and again from April 2003 until October 2010, Mr. Sharp was employed by Ernst & Young LLP, serving primarily public and private real estate companies, including various REITs, homebuilders and real estate investment companies. From March 2000 until March 2003, he served in a finance and accounting role with Terrabrook, a national master-planned community developer with a portfolio of over 50 communities in 20 states.

Mr. Sharp is a certified public accountant and has a bachelor of business administration in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.
